A vehicle is required to take an MOT test after it has been on the road for 3 years to ensure it meets minimum road worthy standards. The test is carried out at least once a year and takes about 45 minutes to complete. MOT tests can only be carried out by Vehicle Inspectorate approved testers.

During the test many parts of a vehicle are checked to see if they comply with key road worthiness and environmental requirements. If your vehicle should fail the MOT test we will happily explain why and highlight the problem areas. We can also provide the repairs needed to ensure your vehicle meets the MOT standard, but we will not carry out any repairs without your consent.

Class VII – Vans and light commercial vehicles

We are certified to perform Class VII MOT’s for Vans & Light Commercial Vehicles. To accommodate such vehicles we have a 5 tonne ramp, so you can be sure your vehicle is in safe hands.

Important Information

An MOT certificate only guarantees the road-worthiness of a vehicle at the time of testing. It should not be regarded as evidence of the condition of the parts tested at any other time. Nor should it be taken as evidence of the general mechanical condition of the vehicle. Something you should bear in mind when purchasing a used vehicle.
